Our Abattoir

Know Your Butcher. Know Your Food.

In 2023 We Opened An Abattoir

As part of Hopcott Farms’ commitment to bringing quality, local products to your table, a decision was made to construct an on-site processing plant. The key motivations for this development are:

  • Supports sustainable farming and eliminates travel for the animals resulting in lower stress and reduces our carbon footprint.
  • Oversee high levels of animal welfare and humane slaughter practices, which are provincially inspected for each slaughter.
  • Provides full quality control for our products, from raising, processing, butchering, and sales right here on the farm.
  • Allows for full transparency with the installation of cameras.
